Educator teaching 5th grade students.

How does matter move through an ecosystem? During this engaging Traveling Scientist program, students investigate how matter cycles through a coastal sage scrub food web. Students meet live animal ambassadors, build food web models, and trace how matter moves through plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment. Through collaborative investigations, they discover that matter follows many pathways through an ecosystem and explore how human activities can influence these natural cycles.
