Students take on the role of landscape designers during this interactive grade-level assembly as they investigate how plant structures and adaptations influence water use. Students examine different plant traits and use evidence to recommend plants for a water-wise school garden.

Partner-Funded Program

Designing a Water-Wise School Garden is offered at no cost to eligible schools, funded by the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) and the Family of Orange County Water Providers.

Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers must submit a grant application to be considered for the program. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding or program availability.
